Pizza Toast 🍕: The Best Express Recipe for Toast Pizza

    Published: Sep 30, 2020 · Last update: Oct 2, 2020 · Author: Paweł Białecki · Leave a Comment

What takes the most time when making pizza? Cake. Mixing flour with yeast, matching the proportion of water to the dough, kneading, waiting for it to rise, rolling. If it wasn't for making the dough from scratch, each pizza could be made in fifteen minutes. Well, what if we replace the yeast dough with something else? Best of all, it is something that is immediately ready and tasty. What could this be? Well, for example, toasted bread. Pizza on toasted bread is an express dinner that is hard to spoil (because pizza is always good - unless you burn it) and will let several people eat it (and you can always make a second and third baking tray). I invite you to my quick pizza toast (on toasted bread) recipe dough.

    Pizza Toast Ingredients

Ingredients for pizza on toasted bread - toasted bread (how else), tomato sauce, cheese (mozzarella), salami, mushrooms, red onion, olives, and corn. You can of course choose what you want (even a pineapple - a popular addition here in Poland), this is the version I like.

    Pizza Toast: Step-by-Step

I start to heat the oven to 350°F / 180°C (thermo-circulation). I lay out the tray with baking paper (optional - less cleaning later) and put slices of toasted bread on it. I can fit nine slices of toast bread.

The "Cake" is greased with tomato sauce. Rather I try not to put it too much because the cake will come out too wet. Here in the picture I just gave a little too much sauce. Gently and moderately spread it - don't spread the bread. The rest of the tomato sauce will be left for you to dip ready-made pieces of pizza in it.

I add grated mozzarella. Any cheese can be used, except mozzarella I like gouda and cheddar.

I add meat. Salami is the most classic choice here, but you can put whatever you like.

Mushrooms are obligatory. Raw, they will be browned in the oven.

Canned corn (drained). The best one is the non-sweetened additionally.

Olives. Here the best - black Kalamata. Pizza ready to put in the oven. 350°F / 180°C thermo-circulation, time about 15-20 minutes (you have to keep an eye on it until everything is browned).

Pizza Toast - the final result

…and the final result after the oven process! In the meantime, I forgot to add onions, but it still came out fantastic! I ate it all.

    Pizza Toast after oven

Ready-made pieces. Soak in the remaining tomato sauce or make garlic sauce beforehand and enjoy these fantastic calories.

    Cost: $5-10

    Ingredients

    • 9 slices toasted rye bread
    • 250 g tomato sauce for pizza
    • 125 g mozzarella cheese (one ball)
    • 24 slices salami (half a pack)
    • 4 mushrooms
    • 400 g canned corn (unsweetened)
    • 240 g Kalamata olives (one jar)
    • 1 red onion (small)

    Instructions

    • Start heating the oven to 350°F/180 °C (thermo-circulation).
    • Lay the oven tray with baking paper.
    • Arrange the toasted bread cake.
    • Spread tomato sauce over the dough.
    • Add grated mozzarella, salami, mushrooms, corn, olives and finely chopped onion.
    • Put it in the oven for 15-20 minutes (make sure it blushes). It's ready - and tasty!

    Notes

Do not exaggerate with the tomato sauce, or the pizza will come out wet. The sauce should only be for color - not too much. What remains will serve as a dip for dipping ready-made pizza pieces in it.
